I first saw my car at a car yard that was on my way to my workplace at the time. I was actually after a second generation Toyota Supra. I found a few, and there was a couple of good ones. But seeing this car twice a day I decided to check it out. It was a fair bit cheaper than any of the Supras and the RX-7's were also a car that I had admired for quite some time.
I finally bought it in August 1997. It was a big step up in quality and performance from what I was used to. Unfortunately the car was making this really annoying buzzing noise. I returned the vehicle under warranty, to Wood Bros Mazda and was told it was fixed. I gladly picked up my vehicle, as I had been without it for almost a week, only to find the noise start up again the next day. I was not happy! So once again Wood Bros Mazda had my car for close to a week again.
I had not had a problem with the car for about three or four weeks, when doing a little run for the company I worked for at the time, I was told my car was leaking some fluid?! It was green fluid and it doesn't take Einstein to figure out what fluid it was. So, once again the car went back to Bozo Bros Mazda for the third time in not long at all. I was told they fixed it.
The radiator was fixed and I contiued on my merry way.
A few months later my clutch went due to wear (and probably too many burnouts). I was on my way to Formaz to have a puck type clutch put in. On the way there my car started to overheat?! I finally got there and it was pretty hot. They put in my clutch and said it was having some heating problems, I told them that I knew of the problem and was organizing a check on it.
On the way home it didn't get as hot as before, but it was hotter than normal. I took it back to Bozo Bros Mazda as it was only just still under warranty. They said that my tires were a bit bald, there was some rubber on the wheel arch and that the reason why my thermostat jammed shut and roasted my engine. I told them that was bullshit and they knew that because of all the other problems I had with it. They finally admitted that the burnouts weren't the cause for the thermostat shutting but deemed the car no longer under warranty (wankers).
